Mood Disorders
Depression disorders, ranging from severe depression to mild depressive disorders, that’re catalogued on this site are categorized under a main heading in the DSM-IV-TR, “Mood Disorders”. Incorporated into this main heading are dysthymic disorder, major depressive disorder, cyclothymic disorder, bipolar disorder, and mood disorders caused by a wide-ranging medical condition, and substance-induced mood disorder. Two subdivisions of mood disorders include seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and postpartum depression (after pregnancy), while premenstrual dysphoric disorder has been proposed as a diagnosis for supplementary review.
